Opportunities abound in Colombia for those wanting to go "on mission." Church planting, evangelism, short-term trips, leadership training, and community initiatives await those looking to connect with life-changing outreaches.
Colombia is about the size of Texas located in northern South America, bordering the Caribbean Sea. It’s 45 plus million residents mostly speak the country’s official language, Spanish, and most residents profess the Roman Catholic religion, about 90 perecent. Colombia has a global reputation. It is not a good one. You will very rarely hear good news about Colombia in the media. Political violence, corruption and the drug trade swirl create a whirlpool of turmoil and hopelessness. The Colombian Government has stepped up efforts to reassert government control throughout the country, and now has a presence in every one of its administrative departments. However, neighboring countries worry about the violence spilling over their borders.
