While the implementation of e3 Partners' ministry strategy may utilize various methods, types of outreaches and touchpoints, the underlying principles are rooted in the modeling of the Apostle Paul as documented in the books of Acts and later described in his epistles. Paul's writings illustrate seven primary steps towards establishing new churches, which have become the foundation for the e3 Partners model:1. Develop Vision: Multiplying Disciples that Multiply Churches2. Pray: Strategic Praying that focuses on Church Planting3. Evangelize: Strategic evangelizing that fuels Church Planting4. Make Disciples: Strategic Discipling that feeds Church Planting5. Gather Believers: Strategic gathering that establishes reproducible churches6. Develop Leaders: Strategic equipping that empowers Church Planting7. Multiply Churches: Strategic Planning that makes Church Planting exponential This model was initially developed for international application and has since seen modifications for US and non-traditional uses. At its original core were interdependent partnerships between national country leaders and North American short-term mission teams, all who had been equipped from training in First-Steps, a biblically-based, adaptable curriculum covering the above principles. By using the same foundational subject matter, these groups came to share a common vision for planting new churches. The goers and hosts work together to pray, evangelize, make disciples and gather believers into new churches. All the while new leaders are being developed and mother churches introduce the principles to their congregations, sometimes multiplying to the third or fourth generation level. This model has produced results on the field, planting over 17,000 new churches since its inception. Today, e3 Partners has adapted First Steps for use in the I am Second ministry outreach, which uses internet evangelism and small group discipleship to form new groups in non-traditional places.
