Trips

As many of you know, I have been serving my community as a teacher for the Cyfair School District for 9 years.  My heart has always been with the littles teaching Kindergarten for many years, but God was tugging on my heart to serve in a different capacity.  I was modeled at a very young age to love ALL kids by my mother.  Not just the ones that make our job easier, but the ones that push us to dig deep inside ourselves.  Her love for children with special needs was never ending and it stuck with me.  That is why I made the move to teach Resource this year in our Special Education Department.  All kids are created in God's image regardless of their circumstances, and I want the world to see that as well.  Cooper, our oldest son, has Autism.  It has never been anything we hid nor are ashamed of, but not everyone knows that truth.  I have been given an amazing opportunity to share this with the people of South Africa.  I do not want any mother or father to feel that they have to hide their children from the world.  
Three years ago, God turned my life upside down when I was diagnosed with a brain tumor.  I was in the middle of teaching and the next minute I was being rushed to an Emergency Room.  Teaching has always been my calling...my passion, but I wasn't sure if I was going to be able to continue.  God knew!  Not only have I made a full recovery, but I went back to fulfilling my purpose.  Little did I know that my purpose had the ability to go overseas and share what God has taught me.  With your help,  I can share the gospel and knowledge to parents, other fellow teachers, and members of the Motherwell Community.   I would be honored if you would partner with me on this journey.   You can do this through prayer and/or financial donations.  

Here is a little more information about how we will be serving in South Africa.  

We will be working in a township called Motherwell with two local pastors. We will be training preschool teachers, teachers and parents of special needs children, entrepreneurs who need business training, Sunday school teachers, and pastors. Our goal will be to work with local leaders to see the gospel proclaimed, disciples made and churches planted until there is No Place Left! The goal of this trip is to see the township of Motherwell transformed by the power of the gospel.
