e3 CPM Awarded $10,000 Grant

Congratulations are in order for e3 staff member and Church Planting Mobilizer Luella Funderburg, who recently received a prestigious $10,000 grant from The Dallas Dream Team, a non-profit organization housed in The Hope Center.

Each year, The Dallas Dream Team awards a select number of grants to Christian non-profits and ministry-minded individuals whose purpose is to serve people in need, proclaim the Gospel, and advance the kingdom of God. Luella was initially nominated for the grant award in the Fall of 2021 and was later named a finalist in January 2022. During a Dallas Dream Team banquet held on April 29, 2022, she learned that the organization had ultimately selected her as one of two grant recipients! Luella plans to use the $10,000 grant for her deaf ministry efforts taking place across the United States and Tanzania, Africa.

Luella has a long history of faithfully serving the deaf community. During college, she chose to major in Deaf Education and became fluent in American Sign Language; she later went on to teach deaf children for more than 25 years. As the Lord called her into deaf ministry, she began traveling to schools to share Bible stories and Gospel conversations with deaf students. Additionally, she equips e3’s National Partners in Tanzania to make disciples among the deaf community. Some of Luella’s ministry partnerships involve deaf pastors, deaf evangelists, sign-language mobile app developers, and non-profit organizations conducting deaf outreach. In the photo above, Luella is pictured (second from the right) with students at a school for the deaf in Tanga, Tanzania.

Luella is looking forward to a return trip to Tanzania in August 2022; there, she and the National Partners will launch a new church comprised of 20 deaf believers, and conduct a follow-up Gospel Conversations Training session. Please join us in praising the Lord for Luella’s outstanding work for the kingdom and her $10,000 grant award.
