Shepherd’s Corner: December 2021

Dear e3 Family,

Now that the end of 2021 is here, I want to say Merry Christmas! This is certainly one of my favorite times of the year. How about you? The hallmarks of the season truly make it special: the cold weather, the lights, the carolers, the nativity scenes outside every church, and the excitement in the air that comes with the celebration of our Savior’s birth. As you and your family gather around the Christmas tree to unwrap gifts, I hope you’ll spend some time reflecting upon one of God’s greatest gifts: the arrival of Emmanuel and the powerful promise of scripture that He is with us.

A few days after Christmas, we’ll ring in the New Year and pray about what God would have us achieve in 2022. But first, I want us to take a minute to revisit all that we accomplished this year through Him—the things for which He deserves our highest praise.

Here are just a few stand-out moments when I think back on 2021:

  • Our staff did a phenomenal job navigating the challenges of COVID-19. Despite the unprecedented pandemic, we continued to see increases in Gospel shares, professions of faith, baptisms, and new churches through the training and coaching initiatives with our National Partners.
  • I Am Second launched some incredible new content, including the Dysfunction to Dynasty series featuring the Robertson family.
  • Our staff led several successful donor initiatives, such as the fall 2021 Luncheon & Concert with Danny Gokey, the I Am Home raffle, and special fundraisers for crises in Afghanistan and India.
  • Last but certainly not least, we officially launched Made to Multiply, our new 5-year initiative to train one million believers, and we encouraged Christians everywhere to get involved and get equipped during Gospel Conversations Trainings.

Please take some time to celebrate your team’s many accomplishments with one another and let’s all graciously thank the Lord for the humble privilege of serving Him over the course of this last year. And, let’s remember to ask for His guidance, wisdom, favor, and blessing to be upon our ministry as we look ahead to 2022.

Thank you for all of your hard work as we run this race together for the advancement of God’s kingdom. Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
