BURUNDI

About the size of Maryland, Burundi is a small nation of coffee and tea farmers. It sits along the northeast shore of Lake Tanganyika and is marked by a mountainous, fertile countryside. Often known as Rwanda’s “twin,” Burundi is mostly populated by the rivaling Hutu and Tutsi people.

Despite ethnic tensions, the 1990’s became a time of revival and growth for evangelical Christianity that continues today. Still, an estimated 17,000 Burundians have never heard the Gospel and live in communities without any church or missionary presence.

e3 Partners is working to ensure that a thriving local church exists in every community throughout Burundi. We are equipping existing believers and training local pastors to identify unreached communities and share the Gospel effectively. As people come to faith in Christ, we are establishing small groups that help them take the next steps in their spiritual growth and serve as the seeds for new churches.

Our vision is to be a catalyst among those with no access to the good news. Through entering new areas, bringing the message, and teaching those who believe how to obey and gather together, our hope is to seek out national leaders to continue the work wherever we go. We are constantly seeking out laborers for the plentiful harvest that has been given. In submission and humility, we will go until there is no place left.
