Tammy*, one of e3’s Strategy Coordinators, has been in Greece this last week on a short-term mission trip with a team of 10 Americans. They began the trip with training and modeling the discipleship method they use to plant new churches for their local ministry partners.

They then headed out to their respective communities of Farsi, Arabic, and French-speaking refugees to meet people, build relationships, share their story, and share God’s story. They also invited them to three Nights of Restoring Hope, which are events designed to gather people and teach them how it is possible to have hope and peace despite the incredibly difficult challenges of life.

“The team had lots of opportunities this week to engage refugees in spiritual conversations, pray for them, and invite them to the Nights of Restoring Hope,” Tammy said. “Prayers focused on finding a job, depression, fear, loneliness from being away from family, and not knowing when they will be reunited. Many families were homeless with no means to do anything about it. The challenges are real and raw.”

Each night, the team taught how to turn to Jesus for hope and how to deal with heart hurts and dark thoughts. Many people came with their families night after night and invited others they knew.

“The room was overflowing with more than 60 Muslim adults and 35 children from at least seven countries!” Tammy said.

During the final Night of Restoring Hope, one of Tammy’s team members, Kristen*, shared the Gospel with all who attended using the 3 Circles method.

“Six Muslim adults from three different countries came forward and committed their lives to Christ!” Tammy said. “All present were amazed at how God had moved and drawn them to Himself!”
