Hello there. I’m Brad, e3’s Vice President of Marketing & Communications, and I hope you’re having a blessed weekend so far.
On behalf of the entire team at e3 Partners Ministry, I want to wish you a happy Father’s Day. Today I will honor my dad, who’s been a faithful believer and great role model for my family over the years. But before I do that, I will start my morning honoring our Heavenly Father! I plan to spend some time in the Word, reflecting upon an important Biblical truth: God has chosen us as His family.
…you received God’s Spirit when He adopted you as His own children. Now we call Him, “Abba, Father.” – Romans 8:15
As you can see from the scripture above, God has adopted us as His very own; what profound love He must have for us! To ponder this further, I looked up the definition of adoption. It’s both a voluntary act and a legal action. Similarly, a covenant is a voluntary agreement included in a legal contract. It is through the sacrifice of Jesus—His unbreakable covenant with us—that we have been adopted as sons and daughters of the living God. Just consider the words of Christ during the Last Supper.
“This is My blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many,” He said to them. – Mark 14:24
While our covenant-keeping Heavenly Father is loving and perfect, earthly dads come in different varieties; some fathers have always been there for their families, while others have missed the mark. Whatever your situation is, I want to reassure you that the Lord loves you more than you could possibly know because you are His precious child—one worth dying for. And that’s something to celebrate.
As we honor our Heavenly Father and our earthly dads today, let’s also pause to remember the billions of people around the world who are far from God. Has the Lord placed a non-believer in your life? Then consider sharing the Father’s love with them today through the 3 Circles method. Additionally, please pray for our missionaries who are reaching the unreached with a message of hope—that they, too, can become a part of God’s family through our eternal Savior.
For His Spirit joins with our spirit to affirm that we are God’s children. And since we are His children, we are His heirs. – Romans 8:16
