Hello! My name is Priscilla and I serve on the e3 Medical team. Recently, I participated in a short-term mission trip to Barranquilla, Colombia. There, I helped to facilitate the medical component for the trip; specifically, our team held medical clinics in four different locations where we offered basic medical care, eye exams, and prayer for all patients. While visiting our clinics, the patients had an opportunity to learn more about the love of God by meeting with members of our evangelism team.

During the mission, our trip participants met Eunice, a local Colombian woman who visited the medical clinic because her neighbor insisted that she have her vision checked. Eunice was hesitant to visit us; she didn’t believe that she needed glasses—but after trying on a pair, her eyes immediately felt relieved! Our team then shared the story of God. We were able to explain that her experience with glasses was a metaphor for her faith journey. Just as her vision was transformed unexpectedly, the Lord could transform her spiritual life. Eunice made the connection and became very emotional after we prayed with her. We praised God for opening her eyes to his Word!

By the end of our mission, the medical clinic had served 479 patients and fitted 339 with eye glasses. (Many of these individuals had never received medical care before, and they were grateful to hear about our organization and how Jesus calls us to serve others.) In total, our teams conducted 1,498 Gospel shares and witnessed 1,152 professions of faith; additionally, we were able to help our National Partners in Colombia plant 14 new home churches! Please join us in prayer that the new home churches will continue to grow, and that Eunice will share the love of God with others in her community.
