Trips

It has been nearly five years since I’ve been on a mission trip, and a lot has happened since then!

• December 28, 2018: Cesar and I moved from Barranquilla, Colombia to Dallas, Texas for Cesar to attend Dallas Theological Seminary while I worked full-time in an office.
  
  
• January 2020: I began working in my church as the Office Administrator. Two months later, Covid hit.
  
  
• September 2020: Cesar and I became volunteer college ministry leaders at our church.
  
  
• May 2021: Cesar graduated from seminary.
  
  
• End of 2020–December 2021: We went through the process of obtaining “green card” for Cesar to work and live in the USA. This is quite the process!
  
  
• February 2022: Cesar received his green card and began working at our church as the College Ministry Director and Adult Ministries Coordinator. He also became a grader for a class at Dallas Theological Seminary en Español.

• January 2023: Cesar and I went to Barranquilla so that Cesar could officiate a friend’s wedding. This was my first time back to Colombia in over four years.
  
  
• Present: Cesar and I are both working at our church. We spend a lot of time with college students, and we are even leading one of our engaged college couples through pre-marriage counseling. We are also a part of a community group from e3 Partners that meets monthly, which has been refreshing for us.

I have seen God at work in my life over the last five years, but going from full-time mission work in Colombia to more administrative work here in Dallas was a difficult transition for me. Recently, this has led me to look for an opportunity to get back on the mission field. After praying about it, I decided to sign up for a short-term mission trip to Barranquilla, Colombia with e3 Partners on October 7-14.

On this trip, we will partner with local churches to share the gospel and start small bible-based discussion groups. In addition, there will be a team of medical professionals working with local churches to host medical clinics in the neighborhoods.

Would you pray for this trip? Pray that God would begin preparing the hearts of those who will hear the Good News. Pray for the local churches we will partner with, and pray that God would give me a teachable spirit and be glorified through me.
