Mobilization Update: June 2022

Hello Staff,

I trust you are having a blessed week. I’m Claudia Adame, the Executive Vice President of Hispanic Global Mobilization at e3 Partners, and I’d like to provide you with an update regarding our Hispanic ministry endeavors.

Back in June 2021, e3 embarked on an exploratory short-term mission trip to McAllen, Texas after we felt the Lord prompting us to spread the Gospel along the border. There, we shared the hope of Christ with migrant/refugee families across the border in Reynosa, Mexico. They were incredibly receptive to our prayers and spiritual encouragement, having faced a number of hurdles including economic hardship, poverty, cartel violence, food scarcity, and more.

During that initial trip, the Lord moved in a mighty way; we witnessed over 200 professions of faith and 25 baptisms! This overwhelming response led e3 Partners to launch a long-term strategy to serve and equip the Church in South Texas. Since then, we’ve returned to McAllen nearly every month, where we support our local partners as they raise up local leaders to share the Gospel, make disciples, and plant churches in Reynosa, Mexico.

This spring, we were honored to have Christian contemporary music artist Danny Gokey and his wife, Leyicet, serve as mission trip participants in Reynosa. Because they share a passion for reaching the lost, the couple was eager to be trained and equipped to share God’s story using the 3 Circles method. They also learned how to share their personal salvation stories with the migrant/refugee families by developing a 15-second testimony.

The Gokeys enjoyed a relative sense of anonymity on the mission, ministering to the migrants not as celebrities but as humble believers. Toward the conclusion of the trip, Danny joined together with local church members to sing some uplifting praise & worship music. At that point, many people in the crowd recognized his voice and took out their cell phones to capture some video. In the end, we were so grateful for Danny and Leyicet’s heartfelt desire to share the love of Christ with those who are hurting and far from God. I’m certain the Lord will use their time in Reynosa to highlight the evangelism opportunities that exist near the Texas border.

Looking ahead to the future, we will lead another short-term mission team to McAllen in July and September. Additionally, we have begun to offer bilingual Gospel Conversations Training sessions, which are noted on our website with the label “Español.”

Last but not least, we are breaking ground on e3 Partners Español, a new Spanish-language website designed to help Hispanic believers get involved with the Made to Multiply initiative, which aims to equip 1 million people to share the Gospel by 2026. Through this website, we will offer a variety of evangelism & discipleship resources in Spanish, plus church partnership opportunities and more. Please stay tuned for the official launch date.

In closing, please pray for our mission trip participants and local leaders in McAllen, Texas and Reynosa, Mexico. Ask the Lord to grant them favor as they work to make disciples and plant churches for His glory.

Blessings,

Claudia Adame
