Mobilization Update: November 2022

Hello! My name is Priscilla N., and I serve as e3 Partners’ Senior Medical Church Planter. I joined e3 in 2000 and quickly found my calling: working within the medical missions field. During one of my first mission trips on staff, I visited a village at the Romania-Ukraine border and was shocked by the lack of medical care. Despite not having medical experience, I felt God compelling me to step in and serve these areas, so I trained with other medical professionals and started my work with the e3 Medical team.

On Mission in Colombia

Recently, I participated in a short-term trip to Barranquilla, Colombia. There, I led the medical component for the trip; our team held medical clinics in four different locations, where we offered basic medical care, eye exams, and prayer for all patients. While visiting our clinics, the patients met with our evangelism teams, where they had an opportunity to learn more about the love of God.

During the trip, our evangelism team met Eunice*, a local Colombian woman who visited the clinic because her neighbor insisted that she have her vision checked. Eunice was hesitant to come see us because she didn’t think that she needed glasses, but after trying on a pair, her eyes immediately felt relieved! Our team then shared the story of God. We were able to explain that her experience with glasses was a metaphor for her faith journey. Just as her vision was transformed, the Lord could transform her spiritual life. Eunice made the connection and became very emotional after we prayed with her. Praise God for opening her eyes to his Word!

In all, the medical clinic served 479 patients and fitted 339 with glasses. Along with these incredible numbers, our teams helped plant 14 churches, conducted 1,498 Gospel shares, and witnessed 1,152 professions of faith! We shared the love of God with many members of the local community and experienced a lot of receptivity. We even witnessed professions of faith from three young children. While providing childcare to adult patients at the clinic, a few of our team members colored and shared Bible stories with the youth, and the children were very excited to experience the love of God for the first time.

On Mission in the Middle East

After our trip to Colombia wrapped up, I traveled with a short-term missions team to the MECANA region, where I once again had the opportunity to serve the Lord by leading the medical component for the trip. There, we served at a refugee camp built by 22 needy families. The community consisted of tents made up of pipes and rugged, waterproof fabric. Due to the lack of space, we set up our medical center within their school’s tent and converted the back of our truck into the pharmacy. The camp’s leader graciously offered her personal tent for our team to stay in.

We also worked with a local, non-profit organization that helps provide food, clothes, and education. By the grace of God, we were able to open the door for this organization to get to know this community and help serve them. The camp was very grateful for all of our help, and our teams felt they were more open to hearing about the Lord during this trip.

Many of these families had never received medical care before, and they were curious to hear about our organization how Jesus calls us to serve others. So, we shared the love of Christ with them and read scriptures from 1 Corinthians 13. Many women wept after hearing this and said they had never heard of Christ-like love.

Unlike Colombia, we did not see many immediate salvations in this area. Professions of faith in this part of the world require seed-planting and patience over the long haul, so we pray that the people of the MECANA region will open their hearts and minds to Him. Our team has been visiting this region for 13 years, and we have made significant progress in softening their hearts to the Gospel.

Prayer Requests

Please join us in prayer that the churches planted in Colombia will continue to grow. Ask God to help Eunice become stronger in her faith so she can share the love of God with others in her community. And please pray for the refugees to be comforted by the presence of the Holy Spirit during this time of need.

In Christ,

Priscilla N.
