How You Can Stay Involved in the Mission During the Pandemic

Hey friends, this is Jim Shannon. I hope this message finds you in good health and spirits.

It’s been a unique last few months to say the least. COVID-19 has brought countless new challenges and struggles, but even in the midst of this pandemic, we know that our God is in control. He’s still at work, and even in the darkest circumstances, He will be glorified.

COVID-19 is not going to slow down the spread of the gospel. And it’s not going to stop us from joining Him in the work that He’s doing around the world. Now, as travel restrictions begin to loosen in certain areas, we’re evaluating the feasibility of restarting our regular short-term trips on a case-by-case basis. But in addition to those trips, God has given us a vision to keep working with our national partners through virtual mission trips.

e3’s virtual mission trips are a new way to answer the call to, “go make disciples of all nations.” From the comfort of your own living room, you can experience what God is doing in some of the most unreached areas of the world. You’ll meet and interact with national believers who are fulfilling the Great Commission wherever God has placed them. We learn from one another, we encourage one another to greater obedience and sacrifice.

Each virtual trip includes training on how to tell your story, and how to tell God’s story. And then you’ll get to experience the cultural distinctives of the host country. Ultimately, e3’s virtual mission trips provide opportunities to be a part of the Great Commission through the use of digital media, and our teams have already done quite a number of them.

In fact, one recent virtual trip to Uganda saw over 200 new believers come to know Christ and 25 new house churches started. So many are desperately seaching for hope right now and we have the answer! We know the one true source of hope. But we need your help to share it with them. Here are three ways you can get involved in spreading the hope of Christ even in the midst of COVID-19:

1. Pray
Pray for our e3 teams and national partners around the world as they seek the Lord’s guidance and protection in these challenging times. Pray for the global church to stand firm in the Spirit to serve those around us without fear and as a testimony to our hope in Christ Jesus.

2. Go
Through the vision that God’s given us for virtual mission trips, we can now go virtually. So even when we can’t be on the field overseas physically, we can still be there. We have lots of virtual mission trips you can join. So I would ask you to find one on our website that fits your schedule, and go with us!

3. Give
Again, the work hasn’t stopped. Our e3 teams and national partners are still pursuing the lost in their cities, and we are still working to take God’s Word as far and wide as possible. You can support the work by giving financially. Every dollar you give helps our teams further the Kingdom.

We’ve already seen God do amazing things over the last few months, and we know there’s more to come. Millions are still searching for the hope of Jesus. What a blessing it is to be a part of sharing it with them.
