Beginning in 1947, Romania became an independent communist state with a highly oppressive regime. The secret police were among the most ruthless and invasive in Eastern Europe. Under communist rule, the Church faced widespread persecution. Christians endured forced labor, torture, exile, and even death.

In December 1989, a swift and bloody revolution swept through Romania following the government’s attempted ousting of pastor László Tőkés in Timișoara. Protests turned into riots that eventually led to the arrest and execution of President Nicolae Ceaușescu on Christmas Day.

Since the fall of communism, a significant revival has swept through Romania. The pain endured by so many Christians has set the stage for an amazing new chapter in the Church’s history and you can be a part of it.

We are establishing local churches all over Romania that are reproducing at an exponential rate. You can play a role in a global church planting movement by reaching those who would otherwise never hear the Gospel. Join teams of doctors, nurses, dentists, and veterinarians spreading across the globe to meet basic health needs. One of the greatest obstacles to following the call into missionary service is the dread of having to raise support. Many who are called, never apply and others fail to complete the application process. Those who do follow through, are still wrestling with misconceptions and false rumors. That is where I come in. My first contact with a missionary applicant is to help them understand the facts, to answer questions and to share experiences. This usually alleviates enough fears to convince them to complete the application process.

Once approved as a missionary candidate, it takes a year on average to develop enough ministry partners (those who will support them in finances and/or prayer) to become fully funded. Invariably they hit times of discouragement and disappointment. It can be a lonely time, but one in which they learn to be self-disciplined and a self-starter, which is a necessary skill for missionaries. During that time, I guide them, encourage them, monitor them, and hold them accountable.

Missionary candidates are encouraged to learn that we have been partner supported for over 30 years and that some of our partners have stood by us 30+ years. The Lord has always provided for us through those He calls to share the blessings they have received from Him. We are often surprised by who God uses and His timing, but we have learned to simply trust Christ in all circumstances.

Now, our Heavenly Father has brought you to this point.
